About FLIC
FLIC maintains a working list of professional subcontractors who are scheduled based on preference and skill set, with the highest priority placed on finding the best match. All subcontractors are required to provide proof of active membership in CASLI in order to work with FLIC.
With over 20 years of experience, FLIC specializes in matching consumer preferences for language modality, including American Sign Language. Other sign system services, including but not limited to Contact Sign, Signed English, and Adaptive Interactive Tactile Sign (Deafblind), are also provided upon request.
For the past 15 years, online remote interpreter services have been an integral part of FLIC’s offerings, utilizing platforms that best meet the needs of each environment and its users. In response to the pandemic, FLIC became a leader in accessible and professional remote interpreting while also providing education and guidance on technology and recommended platforms.
A leader in remote interpreter technical training and support, FLIC has operated primarily as an online service for post-secondary, K-12, and business needs for the past 19 months. All subcontractors are expected to maintain a secure workspace equipped to provide high quality online interpretation using the necessary technology.
